PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Emilio González is the fourth Korn Ferry Tour member to achieve #TOURBound status and secure PGA TOUR membership for the 2026 season, as announced Sunday by the Korn Ferry Tour, after González earned his first Korn Ferry Tour title at the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Chevron.
Prior to his victory Sunday evening, González recorded six top 10s in 20 starts this season, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Wichita Open. The 27-year old’s victory at the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Chevron propelled him to No. 4 on the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour Points List and effectively secured one of the 20 PGA TOUR cards available through the Points List.
González follows Johnny Keefer, Neal Shipley and Austin Smotherman as the fourth Korn Ferry Tour member to earn a #TOURBound declaration.
González, who finished T74 at the 2024 Texas Children’s Houston Open for his lone made cut in three career starts on the PGA TOUR, will be a PGA TOUR rookie in 2026. Earlier this season, González made his major championship debut at the 2025 U.S. Open, earning a spot in the field through open qualifying.
A native of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, González is in his third season on the Korn Ferry Tour, having finished No. 49 on the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour Points List to earn fully exempt status for the 2025 season. He earned Korn Ferry Tour membership for the 2023 season with a T24 finish at Final Stage of the 2022 Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying Tournament (now known as PGA TOUR Q-School presented by Korn Ferry). Prior to his time on Korn Ferry Tour, González played the 2020-21 and 2022 seasons on PGA TOUR Latinoamérica.
González played four seasons at St. Mary’s University (2016-20), an NCAA Division II program in San Antonio, Texas, where he earned seven collegiate victories, including a win at the 2018 Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational. González also earned three consecutive conference player of the year awards, earning Heartland Conference Player of the Year honors in 2018 and 2019, followed by Lone Star Conference Player of the Year honors in 2020.
While the top 20 players on the final 2025 Korn Ferry Tour Points List will earn PGA TOUR membership for the 2026 season, the player who finishes No. 1 earns exemptions for the 2026 PLAYERS Championship and 2026 U.S. Open.
The season-ending Korn Ferry Tour Finals begin with the Simmons Bank Open for the Snedeker Foundation, scheduled for Sept. 11-14.
The finalization of the points list and awarding of the 20 PGA TOUR cards will take place upon conclusion of the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance, scheduled for Oct. 9-12 at French Lick Golf Resort in French Lick, Indiana.
