Steven Alker makes par putt on No. 14 at Simmons Bank Championship

Steven Alker closes in 3-under 69, highlighted by a hole-out eagle at the par-5 10th, to convert a five-stroke 36-hole lead into a seven-stroke victory and a wire-to-wire win at the Simmons Bank Championship presented by Stephens.
The Top 36 players in the Charles Schwab Cup standings qualified for the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, and no players outside of the Top 36 moved inside that number following this week’s Simmons Bank Championship presented by Stephens.
Final-round tee times were delayed one hour due to fog.

Steven Alker makes Eagle on No. 10 at Simmons Bank Championship
Steven Alker, 61-66-69 – 196 (-20)
- The 54-year-old earns his 10th career win on PGA TOUR Champions (97th start) and second win of the 2025 season (22nd start) 
- Previous win: 2025 Cologuard Classic
 
 - Wins second Simmons Bank Championship title (2021 in Boca Raton, Florida) in his fifth start in the event
- Previously finished T12 in the tournament’s debut in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 2024, when he was the 36-hole co-leader with eventual winner Padraig Harrington
 
 - Marks his third PGA TOUR Champions season with multiple victories (2022/four, 2023/two)
 - Totals 20-under 196, breaking the Simmons Bank Championship 54-hole scoring record (previous record: 197/Bernhard Langer, 2019; Padraig Harrington, 2023 – both in Boca Raton, Florida)
 - Marks his second-lowest score in a 54-hole event on PGA TOUR Champions (2024 Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai/191 – tied for the lowest score in a 54-hole event in PGA TOUR Champions history)
 - With the win, passes Miguel Angel Jiménez and moves to No. 1 in the 2025 Charles Schwab Cup standings (began the week No. 4 in the standings) 
- Alker has won the Charles Schwab Cup in two of the last three seasons (2022, 2024)

 - At 17-under 127 through the first two rounds, his lowest opening 36-hole score on PGA TOUR Champions, Alker broke the Simmons Bank Championship 36-hole scoring record previously established by Rocco Mediate (2013/128/R1-R2 in Boca Raton, Florida)
 - Carded 11-under 61 in the first round, marking the lowest 18-hole score by any PGA TOUR Champions player this season, his career-low 18-hole score on PGA TOUR Champions, and the course record at Pleasant Valley Country Club (61), which usurped his own record-setting mark of 62 from the 2024 Simmons Bank Championship
 - Earns his 17th top-10 finish of the season, most among all players this season on PGA TOUR Champions; his only previous PGA TOUR Champions season with more top-10 finishes was 2022 (18 top-10s in 23 starts)

- Former University of Arkansas golfer Tag Ridings (T2) matches his career-best finish on PGA TOUR Champions (2025 Galleri Classic) and earns a Charles Schwab Cup Championship berth in his first season on PGA TOUR Champions.
 - Richard Green (T2), who earned his first PGA TOUR Champions title at the 2025 Rogers Charity Classic, logs his first runner-up finish since the 2024 Charles Schwab Cup Championship; he recorded five runner-up finishes in the 2024 season.
 - Tommy Gainey (T18), who entered the week at No. 36 in the 2025 Charles Schwab Cup standings, closes in 4- under 68 to secure the No. 36 position in the standings and clinch a Charles Schwab Cup Championship berth in his first season on PGA TOUR Champions; he has seven top-25 finishes in eight starts since turning 50 years old and joining PGA TOUR Champions in August 2025.
